This week we talked about the Internet. In particular, we talked about the code that is used to create websites. We also talked about how to encrypt website so the information remains secret from those that shouldn't read it.
My business would have a website but I don't think that it would be one our customers would subscribe to. I see my website as being one for information. Describing our services and telling our potential customers how they can sign up for out services. Our customers would then have to come into the business in person to sign up. I don't think I would have them pay for anything online.
So I don't think website would need to be encrypted. But obviously I or someone would have to create the website. I think that a "wizzy-wig" program would be used to create the website. :)

This lecture was about Computer Networks and the Internet. My business would definitely have a website on the Internet to advertise my new and upcoming business idea. I would also use a Local Area Network in the location.
In each deluxe tanning room the will be a computer. These computers will allow the customers to choose their personalize options for their perfect experience in the tanning room. These computers would be connected by a computer network. There would also probably be more than one computer at the front desk, in the business office, as well as all the tanning rooms.

Chapter 7: Databases
The Chapter this class was about the different types of Databases. Databases are like electronic file cabinets. A business could store all sorts of information in a Database in order to help run their business. This would of course be helpful in my Tanning room business.
There are several types of queries that I could use on the data I would store in my database. I could store customer information, inventory, financial information, etc.... I could use the queries to create bills, send out mailings about specials, print out inventory reports for ordering products and what not.
Databases would be very beneficial to my business. The many different uses of the queries will definitely help my business keep going.

Chapter 6: Digital Images
This class we talked about Digital Images and Multimedia. These are things used on websites. I would create a website to advertise my Entrepreneurial idea.
On my website I would put lots of pictures on it. Pictures of sun sets. Pictures of tan people. Pictures of beautiful sandy beaches.
To edit the pictures I'd use photoshop like in today's lab to edit the pictures for the website. I could also edit the pictures for the murals in the tanning rooms using photo shop. I could crop them and only use the parts of the images I would want on the walls. :)

Chapter 5: Office Basics
Wednesday our lecture was about Chapter 5, Office Basics. Office basics means like Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc... So how does this software pertain to my Tanning business?
Well, with any business you have to keep a budget. I could make a budget spreadsheet in Excel. Also, since there will be more than one Tanning Room I will want to schedule appointments for my clients using the Calendar in Outlook. I will also receive email from colleagues and customers and will use Outlook for that as well.
I could use Word for memos and notices that need to be distributed or hung around the business. I could also type instructions on how to use the computer software in the Tanning Rooms using Word. :) Office will be very useful for my business.

Chapter 4: Software Basics Continued
As in my previous Blog, I explained that my idea would indeed use a computer and software. We talked about what the different kinds of software are. I am guessing that a special specific kind of software would have to be created to make the tanning room work.
Maybe the Software would be called "Tanware" or something corny like that? The software would run the whole room. I think the computer would just look like a screen in the wall with a keyboard underneath the screen in a little hole in the wall.
Tanware would have several options. One option would be to select the tanning lotion your would desire from a list. Another option would be to select which tanning device you'd like to use and for how long. Other options would include maybe the smell you'd like to smell while enjoying your experience and he music you would like to hear to make your experience complete. :)

Chapter 3 was about the basics of software. Software is the actual program the is on the computer that would run the tanning devices.
The whole Tanning Room would be run by software. One would be the Automatic Tanning lotion booth where you have to make a selection by pressing a button. This will tell the computer software what lotion to then spray on the customers body.
The tanning devices are run by software also. First you have to select your device of in the tanning room. Then you have to enter you amount of time into the machine (that is run by software). The software will run the tanning device as long as you have told it and shut it off after your time is up. :)

Chapter 1: Societal Issues
Now that I've come up with my idea, I have to relate each Chapter we review in class to my idea. In Chapter 1 we reviewed what the Pros and Cons of Technology are. I believe there could be both Pros and Cons of my idea.
Ok, the Pros of my Private Tanning Room...I think that Convenience of having all of the amenities in one room is a big Pro. Comfort of the room is another Pro.
Now for the Cons...I think that cost for the customer would be a big Con. I'm sure my Private Tanning Room with all of these amenities would be very costly. Another Con would be the Tanning Spa would be able to serve less customers because of the time each customer would spend more time in the room.
Even though there are Pros and Cons I think my idea is still a good one and the Pros out way the Cons. :)

My Idea!
My entrepreneurial idea for my blog project is a Private Deluxe All inclusive Tanning room. I will call it the "Your Private Paradise Tanning Room Deluxe". This private tanning room will be comfortable, convenient, and full of options. You no longer have to go to Aruba to get a tan while being comfortable and relaxed!
These Private Deluxe tanning rooms will first be decorated and painted in bright sunny colors with murals of palm trees, sunsets, beachs, etc. Choose what music you would like to listen to during your experience on the Jutbox that has everything imaginable. Your Private room will have everything in it that you could possibly need while tanning.

- A changing area with a comfy bench to sit on, hooks for your clothes, and cubby holes for your shoes.
- A tanning booth you can step into and choose the type of lotion you would like to use from the many options. Once you have made you selection you press the button below the picture and the booth will evenly spray you with tanning lotion. (No more standing there and spending 10 minutes applying tanning lotion all over your body!)
- A bathroom (so you don't have to get dressed if you have to go).
- A shower (with plenty of towels) to wash up and freshen up after you tan.
- A perfume, lotion and soap station with plenty of options for during and after your shower.
Once you are finally ready to tan in your private all inclusive room you will have several options of beds, lounges, and standing booths to choose from. All your options are clear and have the tanning bulbs in them. The floor in the tanning area is very soft and cooshy. You will also find fans all around you (in the floors, ceiling, and walls) to keep you cool while you tan. These fans only turn on while the tanning bulbs are on. The bulbs won't turn on until you start your timer that is on each tanning device.
Well, that's my idea. Now to apply each chapter to my idea. Here we go!
